CT Scans

Computed Tomography (CT) uses x-rays to generate cross-sectional images. Any part of the human body can be imaged with CT. Current CT scanners can obtain single images of the body in one second or less by being “swept” around the patient. Although the technology is much more sophisticated than plain film radiography, the basic principal is similar – dense structures in the body allow fewer x-rays to reach the detectors.
